Oriental Plaza is further home to three museums.
The museums reflect the high level of cooperation between the government and individual companies during the boom early years of the 1990's. For example, the large japanese company Sony is presented to the Chinese Public by the ExploraScience Museum, and the Museum of Treasured Antiques is the brain-child of Hong Kong tycoon Li Ka-xing, who's Hutchinson-Whampoa Ltd. is one of the main investment groups involved in the creation of the Complex . Li Ka-xing is a Hong Kong billionaire referred to as "enigmatic" or "elusive." .
