Old QianMen Station (1) Directions & Introduction
Landmarks & Hotspots Menu
In the Last Few Years a Lot has been changed at and around the QianMen Station. And even now a Fourth Round of Renovations and reconstructions involving QianMen, The Station, QianMen Dajie' and bordering Hutong is underway in this Area.
In the Future TiananMen Square and ShenyangMen Gate already pedestrian area's will be connected through QianMen Dajie' to (East) Dashilan Street by means of an Electric Tramway in historical end 19Th Century Style. Dashilan and QianMen Dajie' in turn have by now become exclusive pedestrian area's and will be revived as the second shopping street in Beijing. The architectural Style of Dashilan Street has remained very generally speaking the same - Traditional, Old Ming and Qing Dynasty Era, but polished up considerably and without the usual rough edges which also made up part of the original charm of these places. The entire Xuanwu Hutong block and Remaining Dashilan Street + Area have largely been renovated into a Traditional Chinese Tourist Shopping Zone.
