Full The Northern Hall or Ji Qi Ku Room, was originally built in the year 1530 AD, during the 9Th year of the Jia Jing Reign of the Ming Dynasty. In this same period many changes were made to the Temples of Beijing, among which Tiantan - the Temple of Heaven itself.....
Five rooms (a room is traditionally measured as the space between 4 pillars) wide and only one room deep, the Hall was used to store the sacrificial utensils of the Temple. Xia Shan thin eaved roof.
The original hall was dilapidated after a long period of inactivity at the Temple (Cultural Revolution), but was renovated as part of the entire overhaul of the Capital City for the 2008 Olympics. Renovations were finished in 2003 AD.
