Tzais Zakh Market is the most popular open air market in Ulaanbataar.
It can be found in the western sections of town,  due north of Mongolia International University.
To get there: Find Mongolia International University and follow the long road leading north from it. At the other end, a considerable distance walking, is the location of tzaiz zakh market, stretching through a number of alleys and buildings.
Although Ulaanbataar is not a fully modernized city yet, the new commercial boom has transformed the city and brought with it a fair amount of new malls and covered shopping marts for everyone's convenience. As is the case everywhere, bargain hunters must go the extra mile and head for the various hidden corners of the city, mainly in the various parts of the Ger District where local markets cater to the needs of the substantial lower income section of the citizenry.
Especially street markets are open all year around, regardless of climate.
NATIONAL STADIUM OF ULAANBATAAR:
The National Stadium is the venue of the famous yearly "Nadaam" Celebrations, the National Cultural Festival of the Mongolian People.

The National Stadium can be found in the southern central sections of the City due south of the Dund Gol (Dund Lake) section of the declining Tuul River. It lies within walking distance from the dowtown section of Ulaanbataar. To get there: Walk south-westward along Gingghis Khaan Avenue to end up at the Peace Bridge. The Peace Bridge crosses the Tuul River. National Stadium is clearly visible to the south-east of the bridge.

SKY RESORT - SKIING AND GOLF RESORT:
The Sky Resort is Mongolia's first ever ski resort, and is situated someways to the south of the city of Ulaanbataar on the slopes of the once holy Bogd Khan Mountain. The cited travel distance from Ulaanbataar city center is around 13 kilometres (8.1 miles).
The Sky Resort is intended as a year around leisure destination for the well to do in the nearby city of Ulaanbataar and hopes to attract tourist from the wider regions. The Sky Ski & Golf Resort can easily be reached from China and parts of the Russian Federation via Ulaanbataar's Ginggis Khaan International Airport.
Due to the prevailing climate most attention goes to winter sports, however in addition to the carved out ski slopes there is also a Golf Course available for use in the short summer months. The Golf course was first opened in the year 2012, and it is expected to be fully uperational during the upcoming 2013 summer season.

With due disregard for its status as National Wildlife Park, the resort has been constructed high on the slopes of the Bogd Khan Uul. It was opened opened on 25 November of the year 2009.
Reportedly it has a base of 1,570 metres (5,150 ft) and the slope tops out at 1,379 metres (4,524 ft). Thus, the altitude difference on the slope is about 220 meters. There are a total of 4 ski-lifts (2 chair lifts and 2 pommel lifts) available, giving access to 9 different "runs". The ski resort has 100% snow-making capabilities.

The slopes at Bogh Khan Uul are generally operational between November and March or April, depending on the available snow (See: Ulaanbataar Climate & Weather).
Ulaanbataar is far from a backward town. With the increasing influx of foreign companies, their personel and other expats and fortuneseekers, new restaurants and bars open frequently.
Apart from a wide assortment of Mongolian Foods and their specialized restaurants, Ulaanbataar has gone thoroughly international with Italian kitchen and pizza, Korean style, several Japanese restaurants, a mexican restaurant, several Indian food establishments, Russian and Uzbek tastes, and many more.
Those who prefer to keep it safe and who need to get accustomed to the exotic Mongolian menu can shelter at various western styled establishments, snakc on excellent Chinese Food, or just go and seek shelter at Millie's American Cafe and restaurant.
