This Schematic Map gives a general overview of the entire Oriental Plaza Malls at Dong Chang An Jie (East Eternal Peace Avenue) in the Dongcheng District of Beijing. The Oriental Plaza were the second giant and modern Malls to be constructed in Beijing, after the earlier opening of the Lufthansa Shopping Center in the Chaoyang Embassy (and now CBD) District of Beijing. Constructed in 1998 and 1999 AD, the Malls were presented as the showcase for a new Beijing in the new Millennium and at the time were known as Beijing's Millenium Masterpiece. The Building and Malls were opened just before the turn of the new Century in late 1999 in combination with the opening of the newly rebuilt and restored Wanfujing Shopping Street which was historically the most exclusive and thus number one commercial street in Beijing. Eversince, both have combined to form the economic heart of the newly revived old and inner city center of the Chinese Capital. One has not been to Beijing, if one has not walked through Wanfujing and laid eyes upon the Giant Oriental Plaza. They are most popular after the Square of Heavenly Peace and The Palace Museum (Forbidden City).
The total floorspace at Oriental Plaza Malls is 120.000 square meters. Apart from its function as Luxury Shopping Mall the Oriental Plaza also serves as Office, Apartment and Hotel. The Malls comprise five different zones, Sky Avenue and Grand Gallery. Together, they make up one of the largest commercial complexes in Asia offering world-class shopping, dining and entertainment facilities never seen before in Beijing.

The Lower Floors of Oriental Plaza are actually the ground floor entrance level of the Complex. This is the most visited floor of the complex, featuring a food court on the north-west of the building, a Central Hall named the Garden Court (which features a Star Bucks franchise). There is a cinema in the east flank of the building and a small McDonalds franchise at the east entrance.
As is clearly shown on the Map, in the back (North) the Oriental Plaza connects through to the Grand Hyatt Hotel of Oriental Plaza in Beijing, which offers Deluxe Five Star Rooms and Service as well as Luxury Business suits and apartements. Theme Zone 3 (of 5) is located in the middle of the ground floor of Oriental Plaza The Malls and connects with the Grand Hyatt Beijing. This zone features international top brands such as Burberry, Canali, Coach, Dunhill, Ermenegildo Zegna, Givenchy, Moschino.  The no.3 Theme Zone combines on the second floor with The Grand Gallery which features stores of even more exclusive brands.
The so called Upper Ground is in fact the second floor and level of the Giant Shopping Complex. On this Floor one finds first and foremost The Grand Gallery which lies in the Central Northern Part of the second floor and is thus directly linked to the luxurious Grand Hyatt Beijing. It offers a number of leading shopping hotspots, including Shanghai Tang, Tourbilon Boutique, The Shi's Gallery and Zhaoyi. The people who persue fashion and high-quality life have more choices here, somewhat away and secluded from the Main stream visiting public and gawking tourists. There are plenty of other shops as well as the fun Suoni Tanmeng or Sony Explorascience Museum, a place to learn and distract your kids.
The Top Floor of Oriental Plaza in Beijing is mostly reserved for luxury dining experiences. It is the Gastronomic floor, featuring as Oriental Plaza has chosen to describe it a delectable range of fine dining options, including My Humble House and Esquires Coffee House and Zoe's Café. This is the ultimate spot for gastronomic enjoyment. In addition, Sky Avenue also features high-end kitchen wares and several beauty salons where patrons can be spoiled and pampered. Naturally, this floor connects directly to the Grand Hyatt Oriental Plaza Hotel as well.
Conveniently, the Sky Avenue and Top Floor also give direct access to the various office towers that are part of the larger Oriental Plaza Complex. Away from the main walking routes of the public, here are the elevators and staircases connecting to Office Towers W, C and E. This is also the entrance to the Millenium Heights apartments on the West flank of the Building and the Centennial Heights on the East flank of the building.
Hidden underneath the huge Oriental Plaza complex is an indoor car park that offers over 1,800 parking spaces, all protected from inclement weather conditions. Maximum safety is guaranteed with a round-the-clock security service. The car parking has entrance and exit at Dong Chang An Jie (East Eternal Peace Avenue) in the South as well as as to DongDan in the North. The basement includes the small Wanfujing Paleolithic Museum, which reminds of the rare new stone age archeological finds made during the digging work in preparation for the founding of Oriental Plaza.
